Demanding the wealthy and large corporations pay their share in taxes

We have 3 major planks, I'll cover talking points on each

Stop corporations from shifting their profits and jobs overseas to avoid paying U.S. income taxes. The hard part about this is writing a tax law companies don't loophole their way out of.

Create a progressive estate tax on the top 0.3 percent of Americans who inherit more than $3.5 million. Current Estate tax is on $11.18 Million or more, this proposal takes that down considerably to $3.5. The common Fox News counterpoint on the estate tax is that it’s a 'double tax.' The counterpoint to this is that it impacts such a small number of citizens who are already fiscally secure and who’s spending impact is less stimulating than the distribution of this wealth to the population through the funding of the programs we need to fix our infrastructure and commit to a renewable energy plan that will aggressively move us away from Fossil Fuels (Green New Deal).

Enact a tax on Wall Street speculators who caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs, homes, and life savings. Check out Robert Reich's Why Isn’t Everyone In Favor of Taxing Financial Speculation?

What can I do to help?

  • Join our campaign to support the Stop Walmart Act

  • Support the Occupy movement

  • Support the Robin Hood Tax group

  • Ensure your current representatives are aligned to this solution. If they aren't, make sure they know they are at odds with the community. Call their office, collect signatures to appeal your position if they disagree if they refuse to represent you, find someone else who can and primary them
