Campaign finance research leaves more questions than answers - IL Reps to the US House
While doing some research for a blog post, I decided I would check out the Open Secrets (tracks political donations) profiles on all the IL Democrats in the US House. My plan was to find all the unions and progressive organizations who supported each of them, so if we needed to lobby, we could ask them to join us to add pressure. And while I'm still building that list, I've stumbled on something else I want you guys to weigh in on.
Kirkland & Ellis contributions
I kept seeing the same group pop up across Democrats, then I noticed they were also donating to Republicans. I found that a bit worrisome so I pulled them up... What did all these candidates, which seem very different, have in common that a single law firm would support them? And who the heck are Kirkland & Ellis?

And a few searches in I did NOT like the answer, they represented Jeffery Epstein, BP, and several mergers of multi-billion dollar business. These guys are some pretty serious levels of big money evil. I put a snapshot of some cases and alumni from the group. Here is the link as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkland_%26_Ellis
My question to you guys: Does this mean anything? If so what?
